RELIGIOUS STUDIES

Quran Class  QRN ​101, 201, 301 & 401

Recitation & Memorization: 

Students will practice how to recite the Qur'an properly applying proper Tajweed rules with memorization and review of the 30th Juz'.

Tajweed:
Students will study the theoretical and practical Tajweed rules of the recitation of "Hafs from 'Asim".

Tafseer:
Students will study the Tafseer of certain chapters in the Qur'an- e.g. Al-Fatihah, Al-Kahf, Yusuf & the 30th Juz'.

Islamic Studies  IST 101, 201, 301 & 401
Using the Islamic University Online (IOU) curriculum as a basic guideline, students will engage in discussion on how the Muslim Faith is applicable to modern everyday life for young people today.

Islamic Studies 101 (IST 101)
​​The goal of this course is to provide students with basic foundation in Usool al-Aqeedah, Usool at-Tafseer, Usool al-Hadeeth, Usool al-Fiqh, and Usool at-Tahaarah.

Islamic Studies 201 (IST 201)​
The goal of this course is to provide students with more in depth understanding of Aqeedah at-Tawheed, Six Pillars of Islam, Usool at-Tafseer, Usool al-Hadeeth, Fiqh of Prayer, Fiqh of Fasting, Contemporary Issues, and Moral Foundations of Islamic Culture.

Islamic Studies 301 (IST 301)​
The goal of this course is to provide students with more in depth understanding of Nullifiers of Islam, Foundation of Sunnah, Uloom al-Quran, Ramadan reflections, Fiqh of Zakaah and Hajj, Usool ad-Da'wah, and Rasoolullah Leadership Part (1).

Islamic Studies 401 (IST 401)​
The goal of this course is to provide students with more in depth understanding of Qadar (Predestination), Nawawai's 40 Hadeeth Part (1) & (2), Fiqh of Marriage, Funeral Rites, and Rasoolullah Leadership Part (2).
