Arabic as a foreign language

Arabic Language ARB 100
Cultural and social topics such as the values, traditions, social life, religions and geography of the Arab World are addressed along with the reading and writing basic rules. Common greetings and phrases will be emphasized for verbal skills. Recognizing common words for sight recognition is also stressed.  Students should be able to have recognition of some basic words as well as a proper pronunciation of sounds The course helps in creating cultural awareness and a better understanding of the Arabic norms and values.

Arabic- the Language of the qur'an

Arabic I of Quran  ARB 101
Language, grammar and structure of the Qur’an. The course is intended to highlight the key messages and lessons of selected chapters of the Quran and demonstrates their contemporary relevance. The ability to independently translate the Qur’an into English will also be a key feature of this course.

Arabic II of Quran  ARB 201
​prerequisite:  ARB 101

​This second year of the course is to further enhance ones study of the language, grammar and structure of the Qur'an. 

Arabic II of Quran  ARB 301
prerequisite:  ARB 201
​This third year of the course is to further enhance ones study of the language, grammar and structure of the Qur'an. 

Arabic II  of Quran ARB 401
prerequisite:  ARB 301

​This final year of the course is to further enhance ones study of the language, grammar and structure of the Qur'an. ​
